POOL RETAIL & SERVICE COMPANIES NOW ESSENTIAL IN MICHIGAN
VIEW STATEMENT FROM PHTA NATIONAL - APRIL 24, 2020
Our response to COVID-19:
As Michigan's recreational water industry association, we want to express our compassion and availability during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that you, your families, and your staff are all well.
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued the "Stay Home, Stay Safe" Executive Order, halting non-essential services. The Michigan PHTA Board of Directors has been making efforts to contact many of our local politicians regarding the necessity of our industry services and clarity on what is considered essential.
On a national level, the PHTA is lobbying throughout the country to establish segments of our industry as an essential service. PHTA member businesses have been receiving regular communications with updates on these efforts.
Unfortunately, not all of our industry will be classified as an essential service but we are actively seeking consideration and clarification. We are dedicated to lobbying efforts and learning the effects of this pandemic on our local industry. We will update this page regularly as new information is learned.
Many states and local jurisdictions have issued or will soon issue directives affecting employers and various business establishments. The information we are providing is intended as a general guide to select Executive Orders. The information is by no means complete or up-to-the-moment, as it is impossible to keep abreast of edicts from all 50 states and thousands of local municipalities.
By accessing this information you are agreeing that: 1) this information does NOT constitute as legal advice; and 2) that neither PHTA nor its employees, retained professionals or volunteer members are liable in any way for any inaccuracies or errors in these documents, or for any damages allegedly incurred as a result of any claimed reliance on these documents.
